The retinal dystrophies are a group of rare but potentially devastating diseases that are unfortunately not widely recognized. Here at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, our Monday afternoon clinics are reserved for patients referred for inherited retinal dystrophies, such as retinitis pigmentosa. This tertiary referral clinic is supervised by Dr. Koenekoop, a leading researcher and clinician who is dedicated to caring for patients with these retinal conditions. Having worked with thousands of retinal dystrophy patients, Dr. Koenekoop strives to provide comprehensive diagnostic and counselling for each patient to be seen in his clinic.
